Postdoctoral fellows are sought for research positions in an interdisciplinary vaccine research group. The fellows should have strong quantitative skills and a doctoral degree in epidemiology, global health, economics/econometrics, health behavior or another relevant quantitative discipline. PhD in lab sciences with experience in field or clinical work will be considered. Individuals with the potential for leadership, a desire to cross interdisciplinary boundaries, and aptitude for developing an independent research portfolio will be strong applicants. Researchers in their first or second postgraduate research year are preferred, but third-year researchers will also be considered.
Examples of duties: Coordination of research efforts between different research sites, nationally and internationally. Drafting grant proposals and protocols. Primary and/or secondary authorship of original research manuscripts. Mentoring of predoctoral researchers.
Minimum qualifications: Doctoral degree in epidemiology, global health, economics/econometrics, or another relevant quantitative discipline. Strong quantitative skills with data cleaning and analysis as well as manuscript drafting and publication. High EQ and a strong focus on team-oriented research.
Omer Research Group Omer Research Group is involved with a diverse complement of vaccine research, ranging from field and clinical trials to epidemiological studies and studies on vaccine acceptance and policy. The group also maintains collaborative research relationships with vaccine immunology groups. The group is headed by Saad B. Omer, MBBS, MPH, PhD.
Research Group Environment and Philosophy Omer Research Group works both domestically and internationally; the postdoctoral positions will focus on a variety of interdisciplinary projects having to do with vaccine research. This group also has an orientation towards strong mentoring and focuses on developing skills as well as the ability to lead an independent research program.
