Masters Level Post-Graduate Researchers in Behavioral Science of Vaccination Job Description: Two postgraduate researchers are sought to conduct research on behavioral interventions to increase vaccine uptake in low- and middle-income countries. Applicants should have familiarity with using insights from behavioral science such as nudges, anchoring, choice architecture, to change behavior. Applicants must have strong research skills and a master’s degree in global health, economics/econometrics, social and behavioral health or another relevant discipline. Individuals with a desire to cross interdisciplinary boundaries and aptitude for developing an independent research portfolio will be strong applicants. This position is a good opportunity for someone looking to gain research experience before moving on to a doctoral degree.
Examples of duties: • Conduct systematic literature reviews and examine the state of the field on behavioral insights and vaccine uptake • Conduct in depth qualitative interviews with experts in the field • Write manuscripts on findings and recommendations • Develop a model for implementing recommendations in low- and middle-income countries
Minimum qualifications: • Master’s degree in global health, economics/econometrics, social and behavioral health or another relevant discipline • Experience conducting systematic literature reviews and synthesizing evidence • Strong writing skills and analysis as well as manuscript drafting and publication • High EQ and a strong focus on team-oriented research • Experience in qualitative interviewing a plus
Omer Research Group Omer Research Group is involved with a diverse complement of vaccine research, ranging from field and clinical trials to epidemiological studies and studies on vaccine acceptance and policy. The group also maintains collaborative research relationships with vaccine immunology groups. The group is headed by Saad B. Omer, MBBS, MPH, PhD.
Research Group Environment and Philosophy Omer Research Group works both domestically and internationally; the post graduate positions will focus on an interdisciplinary project focusing on behavioral science and vaccine uptake.
